SpottedfrostRainkit peeked out of the nursery, before coming out. It was cloudy. Then she saw a sparkle. Then another. Rain! she realized. Rainkit followed one, blowing in the wind. It led her to the entrance of a den. Soon the rain started to pelt harshly down, and Rainkit scurried into the den to get out of the rain. She liked rain, but the force of the rain was just too small for her tiny body. Rainkit looked around, suddenly feeling shy. "H-hello?"

A spotted gray tabby and white she-cat was sorting some leafy plants into piles. Her ears pricked up at the sound of a kitten's voice. She offered a small smile. It was so good to see young life. "Hello little one." Spottedfrost purred softly looking up. "What your name?" The spotted tabby asked, her head tilting. Spottedfrost countinued to organize her herbs. She just loved to fresh herb scent on them. "So what brings you here?" the spotted gray tabby and white she-cat asked softly Rainkit |

"Uh... o-out of the rain...." Rainkit replied, nervous. "I-I was following the first few drops of rain."
Rainkit looked around.
"Er, medicine den, right? Oh, and I'm Rainkit."

Spottedfrost looked at the kitten and offered a small smile again. "Rainkit is a pretty name. It matches your pelt color." She meowed. The spotted gray tabby and white she-cat's tail twitched. "Do the queens know that your here?" Spottedfrost asked. She hoped the queen's were not going crazy about Rainkit not being in the nursery "Yes this is the medicine den." The spotted gray tabby and white she-cat meowed again. "Hmm... Would you like to help sort some herbs? If you don't want to its fine with me."

Rainkit smiled. "Er, thanks. And.. uh.. no, no they don't. All they know is that I was outside before the storm." She meowed in reply to Spottedfrost. "Sure!" Rainkit meowed, feeling sudden excitement wash over her. Rainkit didn't know why, but the idea of sorting herbs sounded wonderful, nosing through both sweet and sour herbs. Spottedfrost |

Spottedfrost smiled, happy that the kitten had decided to help her. "This is catmint." The spotted gray and white tabby explained pointing at the leafy green plant. "It's used to heal cats with greencough." She meowed again. "If you find any catmint in the herb store, put it in this pile here" Spottedfrost meowed pointing at the pile of catmint with her nose Rainkit |

Rainkit eagerly nodded and bounded over to the wall with the hillside against it. She got on her hind legs with her forepaws reaching up to the hill. She peered at the dents and crags holding the precious herbs.
Nosing through them, she found a few dry shrivels.
"Uh, Spottedfrost, right?" Rainkit meowed. "I found some, but it's dry."

Spottedfrost looked at the dry leafy plant. "If the herb is try set in down here. I will go and throw it out later." She meowed pointing to the space near the exit of the den. Spottedfrost began to sort herbs again until she came across some more dry herbs. "I guess I have to go out to pick some more" The spotted gray tabby and white medicine cat meowed

"Okay, then." Rainkit meowed, padding over to the space between the hillside and entrance. Setting down the shriveled leaves, Rainkit went back to the back of the den and looked back into the dents in the hillside, hoping to spot more of the juicy-smelling catmint. It wasn't a use to sniff them out; the catmint was there just a moment ago and it wouldn't make a difference. Anyway, the herb storage smelled so strongly of so many different herbs that she could barely distinguish sweet from bitter and fresh from sour as the many scents piled up before her swamped her tongue over. To get the overwhelming feeling out of her head, she turned to the rain and almost instantly she felt better, feeling the constant rhythm of the rain drumming seep into her skin and calm her. Feeling better, Rainkit looked back at the herbs.
She spied a plant with many yellow flowers.
"What's this?"
she asked curiously, sniffing the bright yellow flowers. They smelled sweet and fresh.

Spottedfrost looked at the herb Rainkit had found. "That's marigold dear. It's used to stop wounds from getting infected." The gray spotted tabby and white she-cat meowed. "You would make a good medicine cat." Spottedfrost meowed. She could use a cat to help her sometimes. If Rainkit choose the path of a medicine cat she would be a huge help. The gray spotted tabby and white she-cat carefully picked up the plant and placed it down somewhere so she could start a pile. Rainkit |

"Cool," Rainkit said. But her next comment made her head snap to her. "Yeah... maybe." Rainkit replied. "But what else do medicine cats do, other than, well, do medicine stuff. Plants... by itself dosen't seem that interesting to many... although I like it, most other kits barely stop to sniff them." Rainkit said in response. While she was talking, Rainkit picked up a few small strips of catmint and placed it in the ever-growing pile of strong, addicting herbs, resisting the urge just to swallow them. Spottedfrost

Spottedfrost offered the kitten a small smile. "Well other than sorting herbs and healing our clanmates we go to the Spiritpool to meet with the other medicine cats and share dreams with SpiritClan. Medicine cat's also receive prophecies and omens and try to find out what they mean" The gray spotted tabby and white she-cat replied Rainkit |

"I've always wanted to visit StarClan..." Rainkit meowed. But then she looked back down at the floor doubtfully. "I could never do that," she said, half whispering. "I was born outside the clan...."

The medicine cat looked at the kitten. "Anyone in the clan could be secretly visited by StarClan Rainkit" The gray spotted tabby and white she-cat murmered softly. "One question I would like to ask you" Spottedfrost meowed. "Would you like to become a medicine cat apprentice?" The gray spotted tabby and white she-cat asked
Spottedfrost had wanted to ask this for a while now
